Jo & Keith welcome you to ‘Les Sources’, a charming
guest house in the heart of the Cantal Mountains, Auvergne
Les Sources was built in the 19th century as a mountain inn. Over the past few years we have sympathetically converted the building into an exceptional family home, bringing it into the 21st century. The house has been modernised to a very high standard and all en-suite guest rooms enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and valley.
The Cantal mountains,
situated in the South West corner of the Auvergne, constitute the largest volcanic massif in Europe.
One of the most beautiful aspects of the Cantal
(aside from theses unique volcanic peaks) is the mountain meadows and pastures.
During the warmer months these are awash
with an enormous variety of wild flowers,
butterflies and other wildlife.
You will enjoy the background sound of the cowbells as the Salers cattle (indigenous to the area)
graze the high altitude pastures during the summer months.

Our home is situated along a quiet lane just 1km from the village of St Jacques des Blats. The village nestles in the foothills of the Plomb du Cantal at an altitude of 990m. It is rumored to be named after the pilgrim ’St Jacques de Compostelelle’ who passed through on his way to Cahors and beyond. Our house, in fact, sits directly on the restored and re-mapped pilgrimage route.
The surrounding area provides a year round outdoor paradise.
Spring, Summer and Autumn are the best walking, biking and exploring seasons and in Winter the area becomes a ski and snow-shoeing haven. The ski station of Super Lioran is just 6km from St Jacques des Blats with equipment hire shops, bars and restaurants.
